RGB-sliders on displays for pre-calibration

A calibrated monitor will display reliable color in color managed applications, like Photoshop and Lightroom. But what happens if the monitor has a very color tinted native white point?

Of course the ICC profile will correct the white point by clipping minimum 1 of the 3 color channels. But this process can be improved by a simple pre-calibration with the RGB sliders on your monitor hardware. Just activate RGB adjustments in your Spyder5 preferences and the software wizard will offer you to precalibrate the white point of your display. Now the ICC profile doesn’t need to clip your color primaries and you’ll keep the color depth as high as possible.
