My photography is generally all coastal-based. The majority of my portfolio consists of ocean waves and seascapes. That’s not to say the camera doesn’t get pointed at other subjects from time to time! [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”44522″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]How did you get into photography, and more specifically that genre of photography? <\/strong><\/p>\n

During the year 2007, I was in Australia and planning to head to Southeast Asia to document my travels. I purchased a “point-and-shoot” pocket camera and started capturing moments throughout the trip. Fast forward many years later (2014), I was in Indonesia, spending a lot of time shooting coastal scenes. That was a lightbulb moment when my mind was set on specializing in seascape photography. [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”44532″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]How long have you been doing photography? <\/strong><\/p>\n

After spending six months in Southeast Asia in 2007, I returned to the UK. Photography became a hobby, and I would head into the city of London every now and again to capture the night skyline. Also, whenever my wife and I would take vacations, I would pack the camera. It wasn’t until 2017 when my wife and I moved from London to Cornwall, that photography became a career. I now lead photography workshops internationally and here in Cornwall. [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”44552″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]What\/who are your influences? <\/strong><\/p>\n

My main source of inspiration comes from the ocean. I find the many moods it creates extremely creative for photography. My main body of work is known for its dramatic storm waves, but I find calm waters equally inspirational for capturing. [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”44562″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]What’s your favourite photo you’ve taken and how did colour management play a part? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now there’s a question! That’s a tricky one, as personally, I do not have a favourite image. However, I am always striving to keep the colours within an image as natural looking as possible. Monitor calibration is important and sometimes overlooked as a critical part of the photographic process.<\/p>\n

Photography is a full-time passion and career. My professional career started in February 2018 and so far my images of the ocean have been widely published in national photography magazines, exhibited in a London gallery, and awarded in a national competition (Coastal View Winner 2019 – Shipwrecked Mariners Ultimate Sea View Awards)<\/p>\n

You’ll always find me close to the sea and I organize and lead photography workshops around the coast of Cornwall here in the UK, and further afield in different parts of the world. At present, I’m currently working with other UK seascape photographers and expanding the photography workshops.<\/p>\n
