Spyder X2 Photo Studio

Datacolor® Spyder X2 Photo Studio is the ultimate color management tool kit for photographers, providing all the essentials needed to precisely manage color in your workflow from capture through editing, in any lighting condition. Convenient and cost-effective, a workflow with Spyder X2 Photo Studio’s products can look like this:

  • Start with Spyder LensCal to calibrate your camera with your interchangeable lenses.
  • Next, use Spyder Cube to set white balance and RAW conversion. Unlike a grey card, Spyder Cube lets you set absolute white and zero black values along with defining your neutral grey.
  • Then, use Spyder Checkr for next-level color precision with an HSL-Preset you can load and apply to your entire image series via editing software.
  • Finally, calibrate your monitor with Spyder X2 Ultra. In under 2 minutes you’ll have an accurately color-calibrated monitor, including most HDR/high-brightness monitors up to 2000 cd/m2.

User Guides and Quick Start

Spyder LensCal

Auto-focus calibration error can affect image clarity. DSLRs utilize a separate focus system that can be adjusted to maximize performance in most mid to high-end cameras. Because each lens will perform differently on different camera bodies, making adjustments by calibrating the lens to the camera using Spyder LensCal improves focus accuracy.

Spyder Cube

Spyder Cube provides a perfect reference point for contrast ratio in lighting for your shots – something you simply can’t do with just a grey card. It’s the only tool that delivers true, zero black with no reflections via the Spyder Cube’s light trap. Instantly color-correct images by setting a color temperature to neutralize the light source. Its unique, 3-D design mimics how light falls on a subject, allowing you to see primary and secondary light sources for more precise white balance correction.

Spyder Checkr

This photographic color target tool includes 48 spectrally engineered color patches – the standard 24 sRGB color space, plus expanded color reference patches and targets for skin tones. Use the Spyder Checkr color target card as a color reference in your photo shoot and Spyder Checkr’s software automatically color corrects your images through an HSL preset in Adobe Lightroom Classic®, Adobe Camera RAW®, or Hasselblad Phocus® for seamless color correction.

Spyder X2 Ultra

Color calibration tool for display monitors, including high brightness monitors up to 2000 cd/m2. Perfect for photographers/hybrid photo-video users with advanced calibration needs who may run multiple displays on one or more computers. Ideal for tethered shooting; outdoor shoots where bright monitors attached to a computer are essential; location shooting (photo or video) landscape photography; outdoor portraiture; in studio; on location.
